Raymond J. Tourigny, formerly of North Tarrytown and most recently of Palm City, Florida passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on April 9, 2024. As he did throughout his life, he fought valiantly. He was 87 years old. Ray was born in North Tarrytown on March 30, 1937 and was the son of Arsene and Regina (Breau) Tourigny. He attended local schools and was a graduate of North Tarrytown High School. Ray went on to serve proudly in the United States Navy. After his service, he went on to have a 30-year career with the New York City Police Department, serving in the 47th Precinct in the Bronx.
Raymond was extremely proud of his service in the Navy and his time with the NYPD, but he will long be remembered for his immense love of his family. They brought him immeasurable joy. His family’s happiest memories are of watching him cook and feed his family. No one ever left hungry. One of the fondest memories his grandchildren have is when he would take them to the Galaxy Diner for breakfast on Saturday morning.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aires 1042 in Sleepy Hollow and the Fraternal Order of Elks. He was also an avid New York Giants fan.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife Patsy (Hughes) and his loving children Barbara Anne DePaolo (Charles), Regina Marie Jones (Christopher) and Amy Elizabeth Anderson as well as his beloved grandchildren: William McGuire, Reamonn McGuire, Charles DePaolo, Allison DePaolo, Noah Jones, Ryan Jones, Logan Jones, Lindsay Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Joseph and Derek Consula.
He was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren: Wesley, Ethan, Kellen, Ava and Vivienne McGuire
Ray was predeceased by his daughter Carol Ann McGuire and his son Joseph Consula. He was also predeceased by his 3 sisters Annette McDonough, Teresa Roche and Irene Tourigny.
Visitation will be on Friday April 19 from 4PM to 8PM at Coffey Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Saturday at 11:00AM at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
